Volleyball Recap: Claysburg-Kimmel Comes Up Short

Claysburg-Kimmel lost against Portage back in September of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Bulldogs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-20, 17-25, 25-16.

Lauren Roxby paced Claysburg-Kimmel's offense, picking up ten kills. Roxby got some help from Payton Hinish and her 19 assists. Kaitlyn Mortimore controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Claysburg-Kimmel has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Portage, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.

Claysburg-Kimmel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Tussey Mountain on the 25th. Portage has also already played their next matchup (against River Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
