Lakeland Preparatory had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Sheffield Knights with a sharp 6-2 victory on Thursday. Considering Lakeland Preparatory have won 12 contests by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Sheffield with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Adam Atkinson (3), Eli Coleman (2), and Luke Baldridge.

The win was the 11th in a row for Lakeland Preparatory, bringing their record up to 18-2-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those 11 matches. As for Sheffield, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4.

Lakeland Preparatory and Sheffield are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Lions will challenge Milan at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sheffield, they will square off against Madison at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Madison will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Sheffield surely won't give up without a fight.
