Softball Recap: Glen Rose Tigers vs. Brownwood Lions

Glen Rose won the last time they faced Brownwood, and things went their way on Friday too. The Glen Rose Tigers blew past the Brownwood Lions 14-8. With that victory, Glen Rose brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Marki Sandlin was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (she also didn't allow any walks). Sandlin was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three runs, a triple, and a double.

In other batting news, Adrienne Campos was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI. Reese Waits was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with three runs, a triple, and two RBI.

On Brownwood's side, Jeniffer Romero made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with a triple, a run, and an RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlee Burks, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Glen Rose's win bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Brownwood, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-10.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Mineral Wells the next time they take the field. Brownwood will head out to face Mineral Wells at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Glen Rose will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
