Basketball Recap: Word of God Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Word of God Christian Academy lost against NC GBB Academy back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Word of God Christian Academy Holy Rams were outmatched by the NC GBB Academy Eagles and fell 81-52. While losing is never fun, the Holy Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th in North Carolina, while the Eagles are ranked 79th in North Carolina).

Several Holy Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ayeesha Curtis, who posted 18 points. Curtis continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Christa Greene, who had 13 points.

Word of God Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for NC GBB Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Word of God Christian Academy nor NC GBB Academy have any future games scheduled.
