Baseball Game Preview: Parklane Academy Pioneers vs. Columbia Academy Cougars

For the second straight game, Parklane Academy will face off against Columbia Academy. The Pioneers will host the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Parklane Academy heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to Columbia Academy. The Pioneers have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

For Columbia Academy's part, Logan Buckley was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave Buckley a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Carson Stuart was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Corban Lawrence was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The victory was the eighth in a row for Columbia Academy, bringing their record up to 27-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Parklane Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 13-13.
