Softball Recap: Lincoln Academy Eagles vs. Belfast Lions
Lincoln Academy extended their losing streak to six on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 1-6 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Belfast Lions. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

B Coffin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. L Musial also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
As for Belfast, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games.
On Belfast's side, Jordyn MacKay made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. MacKay was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Danica Gray was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Maggie Metcalf was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
