The Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals will be playing at home against the Seymour Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Eagleton College & Career Academy fought the good fight in their overtime game against Sequoyah on January 5th but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 43-34 to the Chiefs. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Eagleton College & Career Academy has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Seymour's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 88-75 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cocke County. Seymour has not had much luck with Cocke County recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Seymour got a solid performance out of Cameron Soulages, who scored 29 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Soulages hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Hayes Golden, who scored 12 points along with six assists.
Eagleton College & Career Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Seymour, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.
