A District 5 recap September 24, 2013
Lincoln East took down Omaha Northwest 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Greg Dittman threw for 66 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 48 yards during the win.

Trey Beamon was the best wideout in the league this week as Lincoln Southeast fell to Creighton Prep. Beamon tallied 7 receptions for 77 yards. Taylor Richards helped Lincoln Southeast's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 38 yards.
Luke Gifford was a passing and rushing force as the Knights lost to the Junior Jays. He completed 13 passes for 158 yards and also ran for 99 yards.
Dittman put up the best numbers through the air as Lincoln East topped Omaha Northwest. Dittman's favorite target this week was Bryan Reimers, who caught 3 passes for 76 yards.
Thomas Hoefener made the biggest impact on defense this week as Pius X fell to North Star. He.
Hunter Johnson was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 113 yards as Lincoln Southeast lost to Creighton Prep.
Leading A District 5 in both passing and receiving yards, the Thunderbolts' Zach Petitt and Noah Appleget have proven to be a lethal combination. Petitt has thrown for 517 yards this season, while Appleget has 14 catches for 221 yards. Ryan Gottula's team's Johnson leads the league in rushing yards with 375.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Pius X takes on second place Norfolk.
Lincoln Northeast made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,863 from 9,890. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 35-0 victory over the Rockets last week.
