Basketball Game Preview: WF West Bearcats vs. Mark Morris Monarchs

WF West hasn't had much luck against Mark Morris recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The WF West Bearcats will head out to face off against the Mark Morris Monarchs at 6:00 p.m. WF West will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

WF West will bounce into Saturday's matchup after beating Hockinson, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. WF West came out on top against Hockinson by a score of 80-67 on Thursday.

Carlos Vallejo continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in December of 2024. Ross Kelley was another key player, putting up 12 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.

WF West was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Mark Morris was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Friday as they fell 58-52 to R.A. Long. The game marked the Monarchs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

WF West's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for Mark Morris, their loss dropped their record down to 18-3.

WF West came up short against Mark Morris when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 58-45. Can WF West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
