Volleyball Recap: Northwest Whitfield Starts Season with Loss at Home

Northwest Whitfield unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 2-0 to the Dalton Catamounts on Thursday. The Bruins haven't had much luck with the Catamounts recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

While Northwest Whitfield ultimately came up short, they really made Dalton work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 28-26.

Dalton can attribute much of their success to Anjalee Lemons, who had seven assists and three aces. Those seven assists gave Lemons a new career-high.

Coincidentally, Northwest Whitfield and Dalton will both be playing Coahulla Creek the next time they take the court. The Catamounts will head out to face the Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bruins will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
