Clovis West and Clovis are an even 5-5 against one another since June of 2021, but likely not for long. The Golden Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clovis West is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Clovis West will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Buchanan, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Golden Eagles came out on top against the Bears by a score of 5-1 on Friday.

Aliya Swillis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kylie Byrd, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Johnston, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Clovis East hit Clovis with a four-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars came up short against the Timberwolves, falling 10-1. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Timberwolves recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Clovis West has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Clovis, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

Clovis West skirted past Clovis 4-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Do the Golden Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
