Basketball Recap: Stanhope Elmore Takes a Loss

Stanhope Elmore lost against Wetumpka last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Stanhope Elmore Mustangs took a hard 49-35 fall against the Wetumpka Indians.

Wetumpka's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aaliyah Humphrey led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave Humphrey a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Banks, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards.

Stanhope Elmore's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Wetumpka, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stanhope Elmore will head out to challenge Percy Julian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wetumpka, they will venture away from home to square off against Alabama Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
