Rush Blackwell Turns in Season-Best Performance

On Friday, South Columbus got the W thanks in part to Rush Blackwell playing the best football he has all season. Blackwell rushed for 247 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played.

The win (which was South Columbus' sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. Blackwell and South Columbus will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Whiteville at 7:30 p.m. on November 1st.

Dashon Campbell Sets Career High in Rushing Yards

Dashon Campbell produced his most outstanding game to date while leading East Bladen to the win on Friday. Campbell rushed for 181 yards and five touchdowns on only 14 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

East Bladen is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. Campbell will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Whiteville on Friday.

Jeremiah Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pender over Whiteville

Jeremiah Johnson put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in November of 2023 on Friday. He rushed for 298 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Johnson is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 121 every time he's taken the field this season.

Pender's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. They and West Columbus are set to duel on Friday.

South Columbus Wins Sixth-Straight Thanks to Briar Johnson

South Columbus picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Briar Johnson. Johnson did his part (and then some), rushing for 102 yards and two touchdowns for the 'W'.

On the season, Johnson has run in 15 touchdowns while averaging 80 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging three rushing yards per game.

Big Game from Hill As Pender Fell 51-38

Jassiah Hill put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in November of 2023 on Friday. He rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
