Basketball Game Preview: Pinellas Park Patriots vs. Osceola Warriors

After both having extra time off, the Pinellas Park Patriots and the Osceola Warriors will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Pinellas Park is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight games dating back to last season last Thursday. They had to suffer through a 70-29 loss at the hands of Boca Ciega.

Nikiez Surls put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted 14 points.

Meanwhile, Osceola came up short against Gulf last Tuesday and fell 75-64.

Pinellas Park will need to focus on slowing down Jackson Bird, one of several Osceola players who made an impact when they last played. He went 7-for-13 to rack up 23 points in addition to six assists and three steals. Aiden Dyals was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards.

Pinellas Park's record now sits at 0-2. As for Osceola, their record is now an identical 0-2.

Pinellas Park couldn't quite get it done against Osceola when the teams last played back in February as they fell 70-57. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
