Football Recap: West St. John Skates Past East Iberville with Ease

West St. John won the last time they faced East Iberville and things went their way on Friday too. The Rams breezed past the Tigers to the tune of 38-6. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Rams had established a 26-point advantage.

West St. John was led to victory by Kalon Gardner and Achtion Barnes. Gardner gained 257 total yards and a touchdown, while Barnes threw for 292 yards and four TDs on only 16 passes. Gardner's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards. West St. John's leading receiver Chance Bovie was Barnes' top target yet again, picking up 56 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

West St. John was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 309 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

West St. John didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Za'Kyrin Howard and Kadyn Smith. Howard is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last 15 games he's played dating back to last season.

The win made it two in a row for West St. John and bumps their season record up to 2-3. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.0 points over those games. As for East Iberville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

West St. John has already played their next contest, a 46-6 win against Varnado on the 10th. As for East Iberville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 24-6 victory against White Castle on the 10th.
