Soccer Game Preview: Gretna vs. Elkhorn

Gretna is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Elkhorn is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Dragons will welcome the Antlers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gretna's last five matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Monday, Gretna needed a bit of extra time to put away Waverly. They skirted past the Vikings 2-1. The win continues a trend for Gretna in their matchups with Waverly: they've now won nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Elkhorn won against Lincoln Northwest on Friday with four goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Monday. The Antlers put the hurt on Norris with a sharp 4-1 victory. Elkhorn might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

They hit Norris with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Caleb Kimmell (2), Nick Pagliuca, and Cameron Lambirth.

Elkhorn's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Gretna, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Everything went Gretna's way against Elkhorn when the teams last played back in April of 2019, as Gretna made off with a 5-0 victory. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Antlers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
