Basketball Recap: Del Valle Wins Going Away Against Bel Air

Del Valle lost to Bel Air back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Del Valle Conquistadores enjoyed a cozy 64-47 win over the Bel Air Highlanders.

Del Valle had a senior duo take command as Kobe Saenz went 5 of 7 on his way to 17 points and Byan Mei went 5 for 6 en route to 13 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Saenz has posted since back in November of 2024. Dylan Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first boards of the season.

Del Valle was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bel Air only racked up seven assists.

Bel Air's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matt Hernandez, who went 10 for 20 on his way to 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Reyes, who went 5 of 7 en route to 12 points.

Del Valle has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. As for Bel Air, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-13.

Del Valle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-37 victory against Horizon on the 21st. As for Bel Air, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 56-53 defeat against El Dorado on the 21st.
