Basketball Recap: DeKalb County Comes Up Short

DeKalb County lost against Warren County back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The matchup between the DeKalb County Tigers and the Warren County Pioneers & Lady Pioneers didn't end well, with the DeKalb County Tigers falling 60-44. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Pioneers & Lady Pioneers are ranked 117th).

Warren County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Deashawn Adams led the charge by going 7 for 13 on his way to 17 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Keyton Reno, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds.

DeKalb County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Warren County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

DeKalb County will head out to face off against Watertown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Warren County, they will host Siegel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
