There's no place like home for Normandy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Mayfield Wildcats 3-2. For the Invaders, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2023.

Normandy wouldn't go down easily and took Mayfield into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-9, 15-25, 25-21, 15-11.

Anais Valentin Rivera paced Normandy's offense, picking up 14 kills. Valentin Rivera got some help from Taylor Shaw and her 19 assists. Jessica Chuba controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

The victory got Normandy back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Normandy will host Laurel at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mayfield, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Orange at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
