Basketball Recap: Carlinville Comes Up Short

Carlinville lost against Greenville back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Carlinville Cavaliers took a blow against the Greenville Comets, falling 57-26. The Cavaliers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.

Carlinville's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominic Alepra, who posted nine points. That was a full 34.6% of Carlinville's points, marking the third time in a row Alepra has scored more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tate Duckels, who earned six points and six boards.

Carlinville is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-18. As for Greenville, they pushed their record up to 19-11 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coming up, Carlinville will head out on the road to take on Hillsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Carlinville is facing Hillsboro at the right time seeing as Hillsboro is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Greenville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
