Basketball Game Preview: D.C. Everest Evergreens vs. Marshfield Tigers

D.C. Everest is 2-8 against Marshfield since December of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The D.C. Everest Evergreens will head out to take on the Marshfield Tigers at 7:15 p.m. D.C. Everest knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Marshfield likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, D.C. Everest was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 63-59 to Wausau East. While losing is never fun, the Evergreens can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Lumberjacks are ranked 25th).

Meanwhile, Marshfield strolled past Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 69-53.

Marshfield's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for D.C. Everest, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

D.C. Everest took a serious blow against Marshfield in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 59-31. Can D.C. Everest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
