Volleyball Recap: Galena Pirates vs. Fulton Steamers
With a playoff game on the line, Galena rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Fulton Steamers. The victory was familiar territory for the Pirates who have now won four games in a row.
Galena never let Fulton on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 27-25.
Gracie Furlong paced Galena's offense, picking up 11 kills. Furlong got some help from
Abigale Merritt and her 18 assists. Finally,
Mya Mccoy kept Galena's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.
Galena has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 24 of their last 26 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 34-3 record this season. As for Fulton, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 26-10-1.
