While Belmont's victory against Stoneham wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Marauders won by a run and slipped past the Spartans 5-4. The Marauders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans on Friday, too.

The win made it two in a row for Belmont and bumps their season record up to 7-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Stoneham, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

Looking ahead, Belmont will host Arlington at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Spy Ponders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Marauders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Stoneham, they will face off against Wakefield Memorial at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
