Baseball Recap: Maconaquah Takes a Loss

Maconaquah had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 13-9 to make it four. They came up short against the Madison-Grant Argylls, falling 6-0. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Braves, who fell 7-5 when the teams last met back in May of 2021.

As for Madison-Grant, their record is now 15-10. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Madison-Grant's part, not much got past Luke Gilman, who gave up just three hits to keep Maconaquah off the board. Gilman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Madison-Grant got a big performance out of Xavier Yeagy, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most RBI Yeagy has posted since back in April. Levi Nelson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Coming up, Maconaquah will host North Miami at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Braves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Madison-Grant, they will take on Alexandria-Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Tigers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
