Basketball Game Preview: Centralia Panthers vs. Hanover Wildcats

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Centralia Panthers face off against the Hanover Wildcats at 7:10 p.m. on Friday... Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Centralia took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Cair Paravel by a score of 63-55.

Meanwhile, Hanover humbled Diller-Odell with a 73-41 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 23 points or more this season.

Centralia has also been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Hanover, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4.

Centralia strolled past Hanover in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 68-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Centralia since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
