Baseball Game Preview: Freer Buckaroos vs. Aransas Pass Panthers

The Freer Buckaroos will take on the Aransas Pass Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Freer is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Freer is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since March 1, 2024 on Friday. They lost 14-5 to Pearsall.

Oscar Luan and Isaac Gonzales did some serious damage despite the final result: Luan went 2-for-3 with four RBI, while Gonzales scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Gonzales has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Aransas Pass came up short against Dilley on Friday, falling 13-3. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aransas Pass' defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-1. As for Freer, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Everything went Freer's way against Aransas Pass in their previous matchup back in March of 2016, as Freer made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Freer since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
