Basketball Game Preview: Nardin Academy Gators vs. Starpoint Spartans

The Nardin Academy Gators and the Starpoint Spartans will compete for holiday cheer at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-19, which was the final score in Nardin Academy's tilt against Cardinal O'Hara on Thursday. The matchup marked the Gators' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, Starpoint was not quite West Seneca West's equal in the second half on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to the Warhawks.

Nardin Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Starpoint, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-1.
