Basketball Recap: New Home Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

New Home won the last time they faced Borden County and things went their way on Saturday too. The New Home Leopards walked away with a 42-34 victory over the Borden County Coyotes. Given the Leopards' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Coyotes are ranked 234th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

New Home is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Borden County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.

New Home will be playing in front of their home fans against Tahoka at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Borden County, they will challenge Dawson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
