Basketball Game Preview: Rangeview Raiders vs. Denver East Angels

Rangeview and Denver East are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Rangeview Raiders will head out to square off against the Denver East Angels at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Rangeview took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 43-33 victory over Denver South.

Rangeview found their leader in freshman Nylah Duncan, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 12 points along with seven boards and seven steals. Duncan has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zania Romero-King, who posted nine points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Denver East). They breezed by Denver South to the tune of 88-31 on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Angels who have now won three contests in a row.

Rangeview's record is now 8-4. As for Denver East, their record now sits at 6-7.

Rangeview came up short against Denver East in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 43-30. Can Rangeview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
