Basketball Recap: Mountain View Bruins vs. Pleasant Grove Vikings
Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 58-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pleasant Grove Vikings. The Bruins were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in December of 2017.
When it comes to explaining why Mountain View lost, don't look at Brennan Olsen. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Hair, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 10 points and three steals.
Pleasant Grove found their leader in sophomore Brennan Blackett, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Blackett has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Andrew Anderson, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points.
Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Pleasant Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Mountain View and Skyline will round out the year against one another at at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.7 points per game this season. As for Pleasant Grove, they will face off against Highland at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th.
