Basketball Recap: Elizabethton Comes Up Short

Elizabethton suffered their biggest defeat since February 2, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against the Tennessee Vikings, falling 75-53. The Fighting Cyclones haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

It was another big night for Colin Brown, who went 10-for-20 to rack up 25 points and eight assists for Tennessee. The matchup was Brown's ninth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Phillips, who went 5-for-9 en route to 15 points and six rebounds.

Elizabethton's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Tennessee, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

Elizabethton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-57 defeat against Morristown-Hamblen East on the 12th. As for Tennessee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 80-72 loss against David Crockett on the 11th.
