Softball Recap: Valley Regional Starts Season with Victory Against East Hampton

Valley Regional took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the East Hampton Bellringers. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Bellringers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Paige Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Juliana Spencer was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Nataly Pavon-Avila was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Valley Regional has already played their next game (against Morgan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for East Hampton, they will be playing at home against Haddam-Killingworth at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
