Baseball Recap: Wood Memorial Takes a Loss

If Wood Memorial was feeling good fresh off their 10-3 takedown of South Knox last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans came up short against the Eastern Greene Thunderbirds on Friday, falling 12-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Thunderbirds: they've now lost four in a row.

Wood Memorial saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Houston Schoonover, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Wood Memorial now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Eastern Greene, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wood Memorial will square off against Evansville Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Eastern Greene, they will face off against Linton-Stockton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. This will be the Thunderbirds' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
