Baseball Game Preview: Brillion Lions vs. Two Rivers Purple Raiders

For the second straight game, Brillion will face off against Two Rivers. The Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Purple Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Brillion was handed a six-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Two Rivers 5-3. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Purple Raiders: they've now won three in a row.

Joe Shimek was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Shimek was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Shimek wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was MC Zutz, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. That run was Zutz's first of the season.

Two Rivers' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Brillion, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
