Basketball Recap: Lowell Comes Up Short

Lowell suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2024 on Saturday. They were dealt a 61-34 defeat at the hands of the Munster Mustangs. The Red Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 46-45.

Lowell lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ryan Grskovich, who posted eight points and three steals. He is becoming a predictor of Lowell's success: when he posts at least three steals the team is 2-1 (and 8-9 when he doesn't). Brody Carter was another key player, putting up ten points.

Lowell has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Munster, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Looking ahead, Lowell will look to defend their home court on Thursday against River Forest at 7:00 p.m. As for Munster, they are taking a road trip to challenge 21st Century Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Munster's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
