De La Salle extended their winning streak to seven on Friday, bumping them up to 7-0. They took their game with ease, bagging a 56-13 victory over the Amador Valley Dons. The Spartans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

De La Salle had a senior duo take command as Brayden Knight threw for 93 yards and three TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes and Brady Smith rushed for 97 yards and one score on only five carries. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Jayden Nicholas, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Special teams played a big role in the game for De La Salle, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Nicholas, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

De La Salle didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Dylan Scott, Jmo Mitzel, and Alex Lordan picked up one apiece.

As for Amador Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 250th, while De La Salle is ranked sixth).

Amador Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Vincent Maiorana, who rushed for 100 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.

De La Salle has already played their next contest, a 56-7 win against San Ramon Valley on the 24th. As for Amador Valley, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Monte Vista at 7:15 p.m. on the 31st. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Maiorana and Henry Lasker.
