Soccer Game Preview: Del Valle vs. Franklin

The Del Valle Conquistadores will challenge the Franklin Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Del Valle took a seven-goal loss the last time they faced off against Pebble Hills, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Conquistadores came out on top in a nail-biter against the Spartans on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2. The win was all the more spectacular given Del Valle's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while Pebble Hills are ranked 38th).

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Franklin was forced to settle for a draw. They and Chapin finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw on Tuesday.

Del Valle's victory bumped their record up to 3-4-1. With that draw, Franklin's record moves to 4-4-1.

Everything went Del Valle's way against Franklin when the teams last played back in January of 2025, as Del Valle made off with a 5-2 win. Do the Conquistadores have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
