Soccer Recap: Winter Haven Christian Takes a Loss

Winter Haven Christian was the 2-1 winner over Geneva Classical Academy when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Winter Haven Christian Warriors fell just short of the Geneva Classical Academy Knights by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by just one goal.

Landon Waters and Daniel Hernandez scored all three of Winter Haven Christian's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

This is the second loss in a row for Winter Haven Christian and nudges their season record down to 0-2. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored six goals over those two matchups. As for Geneva Classical Academy, they now have a winning record of 1-0-1.

Coincidentally, Winter Haven Christian and Geneva Classical Academy will both be playing Candlelight Christian Academy the next time they take the pitch. Winter Haven Christian will head out to face Candlelight Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Geneva Classical Academy will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
