Softball Recap: Williamsburg Falls to West Branch in First Game of Season

Williamsburg kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the West Branch Warriors, falling 19-4. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Eleanor Brubaker made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for West Branch and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williamsburg will face off against North Star at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Branch, they will square off against Portage at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. West Branch is facing Portage at the right time seeing as Portage is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
