Baseball Recap: Clarkdale's Winning Streak Snapped at 16 Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Clarkdale can now relate to. They lost 10-3 to Mize on Monday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for Clarkdale, who until this contest were averaging 2.58 runs allowed.

Cade Culpepper and Jaxson McRee did some serious damage despite the final result: Culpepper went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run, while McRee went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Culpepper is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden McDill, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Clarkdale moved to 35-5 with that loss, which also ended their 16-game winning streak. As for Mize, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-8 record this season.

While Clarkdale had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
