 The Elgin Comets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hayes Pacers at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Both teams come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 On Tuesday,  it was close, but  Elgin sidestepped Wynford for  a  3-2 win. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Elgin.
  Jacob Isler was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Isler was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with two  doubles and two  RBI.
 Isler wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Nash Lust, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Hayes had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.6 runs), and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They blew past the Falcons 14-3. Hayes' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
 Elgin is  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last 12 games,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record  this season. As for Hayes, they pushed their record up to 16-6 with that  victory, which was their seventh straight  at home.
