Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gilmer). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Chapel Hill Bulldogs a 17-0 shutout on Friday. The Buckeyes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Gilmer's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Chapel Hill, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilmer will square off against Henderson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Henderson will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Gilmer surely won't give up without a fight. We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up.
