The Anna Coyotes will square off against the Emerson Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Anna is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Independence to the tune of 63-7 on Thursday. With the Coyotes ahead 49-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Ziondre Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 305 yards and five touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Pharell Brown, who gained 163 total yards.
Anna's run defense was locked in: Independence could only muster one yards per carry. While two picked up at least three total tackles, Cash Williams stood above the rest. He picked up a sack and made three total tackles. Anna didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 14.4.
Meanwhile, Emerson won against Memorial last Friday with 28 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Mavericks blew past Liberty 28-7. That looming 28-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mavericks yet this season.
Emerson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Brady Mensik, Jaxon Cannida, and Isaiah Toa picked up one apiece.
Anna's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 49.4 points this season. As for Emerson, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Anna has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 433.6 total yards per game. It's a different story for Emerson, though, as they've been averaging only 225.8 total yards. Will Anna be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Mavericks flip the script?
Anna was able to grind out a solid victory over Emerson in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 44-31. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Mavericks' DJ Shelton, who threw for 206 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 54 yards. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Coyotes to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
