Softball Recap: Castleberry Comes Up Short

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Castleberry and Springtown have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Lions lost 11-1 to the Porcupines. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Porcupines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-3 back in March.

Castleberry's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-19-1. As for Springtown, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Castleberry will host Burkburnett at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Springtown, they have already played their next contest, a 6-0 victory against Decatur on the 14th.
