Baseball Recap: Mount Miguel's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Mount Miguel unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Kearny Komets by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Matadors have suffered since February 27, 2024.

Mount Miguel saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emilo Lopez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Luis Luna- Ramirez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Even though they lost, Mount Miguel hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive contests.

Mount Miguel's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Kearny, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Looking ahead, Mount Miguel will challenge San Diego at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kearny, they will take on Mar Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
