Basketball Recap: Johnston Takes a Loss

Johnston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the East Greenwich Avengers, falling 59-39. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

East Greenwich got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rees Maccarone out in front who posted 18 points. Aidan Glynn was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Johnston's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for East Greenwich, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-9.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Johnston Panthers take on the Lincoln Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for East Greenwich, they will challenge Juanita Sanchez Complex at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
