Softball Game Preview: Angola Hornets vs. Adams Central Flying Jets

The Angola Hornets will venture away from home to challenge the Adams Central Flying Jets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Angola will be strutting in after a win while Adams Central will be coming in after a defeat.

Angola's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Lakeland as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hornets needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Adams Central came up short against South Adams on Thursday, falling 15-5. The loss continues a trend for the Flying Jets in their meetings with the Starfires: they've now lost five in a row.

Melina Peralez was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Adams Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Angola, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12.

Angola took their victory against Adams Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2018 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Flying Jets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
