Basketball Recap: Glendale Comes Up Short

Glendale played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Agua Fria Owls, falling 41-14. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-5.

Saleen Rios was her usual excellent self, putting up 14 points along with seven steals and five rebounds for Agua Fria. Rios has become a key player for Agua Fria: the team is 12-4 when she posts at least three steals, but 2-6 otherwise. Jersey Mitchell was another key player, scoring six points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

Glendale's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Agua Fria, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Glendale has already played their next matchup (against Independence), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Agua Fria, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Deer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
