Volleyball Recap: Excel Academy Charter's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Excel Academy Charter lost against Pioneer Charter School of Science II last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wolves lost 3-0 to the Pirates.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18, 25-12.

Pioneer Charter School of Science II's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yurie Lee, who had four digs and two aces. Those four digs gave Lee a new career-high. Valeria Pineda was another key player, getting five digs and two aces.

Excel Academy Charter's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3. As for Pioneer Charter School of Science II, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Excel Academy Charter will square off against rival Salem Academy Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pioneer Charter School of Science II is set to face off against their familiar foe Community Charter School of Cambridge at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
