Baseball Recap: Taft Takes a Loss

Taft easily dispatched Chavez last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Wildcats fell just short of the Sanger Apaches by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Apaches from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Taft saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was William Espinoza, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Sanger, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Taft will host Wasco at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Sanger, they will head out to challenge Justin Garza at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Guardians will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Apaches surely won't give up without a fight.
